Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with expertise in JavaScript and Cypress to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong automation testing experience, deep knowledge of test frameworks, CI/CD integration, and performance testing. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Test Automation Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust test automation frameworks using Cypress, JavaScript/TypeScript.
• API Testing: Automate API tests using tools like Postman, SuperTest, or RestAssured (JavaScript-based).
• UI & E2E Testing: Develop and execute end-to-end tests, ensuring browser compatibility and performance using Cypress.
• Test Strategy & Planning: Define test strategies, test cases, and test plans aligned with Agile development.
• CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps).
• Performance Testing: Contribute to performance and load testing using Lighthouse, k6, or JMeter.
• Bug Reporting & Tracking: Identify, document, and track defects using JIRA, TestRail, or similar tools.
• Code Quality & Reviews: Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving testability and maintainability.
• Security & Accessibility Testing: Implement basic security testing and ensure web accessibility compliance.
• Collaboration: Work closely with developers, DevOps, and product teams in an Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environment.
  
  

Required Skills and exp:

• 5 to 8 years of experience in automation testing with a strong focus on JavaScript/TypeScript and Cypress
• Strong hands-on experience with Cypress framework and best practices.
• Experience in API testing using Postman, SuperTest, or REST APIs.
• Knowledge of BDD frameworks like Cucumber or Mocha/Chai.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps.
• Proficiency in Git, GitHub, or Bitbucket for version control.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and test-driven development (TDD/BDD).
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes for test execution in containerized environments.
• Basic knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases for test data validation.
• Experience with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

🔹 Experience with Playwright, WebDriverIO, or Selenium in addition to Cypress.

🔹 Knowledge of contract testing (Pact.js).

🔹 Exposure to performance testing (k6, JMeter, Lighthouse).

🔹 Understanding of security testing (OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite).

🔹 Experience in mobile test automation (Appium, Detox).
