Software Developer I, XML

Safe Software is looking for a Software Developer I to join our XML team. As a Software Developer I, you will be responsible for reading, writing, and maintaining C++ code modules as part of the core FME Engine product with a focus on the analysis, design, and implementation of XML components.

About The Team

The XML team at Safe Software specializes in integrating and transforming XML data using the FME platform, offering solutions for a vast array of applications and web services. They focus on automating XML workflows, providing educational resources, and developing tools for efficient and customizable data manipulation.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Software Developer I, XML, you will:

• Write and design correct, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Read and understand technical specifications and design documents.
• Perform complex problem solving, analysis, and debugging to identify issues and potential solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, testing implementations and creating automated tests for written code.
• Write and maintain technical documentation based on code implementation.
• Actively participate and collaborate in Development team meetings to offer opinions on solutions, present alternative options, and develop strategic solutions.
• Work primarily in Windows and Visual Studio environments.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

Nice To Have Skills

• Knowledge of compiler design, data exchange formats such as XML and JSON, 3D formats such I3S, Cesium, glTF, CityGML, networking frameworks, computational geometry and computer graphics.
• A solid understanding of the overlap between computational geometry and computer graphics.
• Experience mitigating risk for ill-conditioned problems.
• Willing to question their own assumptions.
• Able to question the assumptions of others in a thoughtful and productive manner.
