🚀 Software Developer Apprentice – £24,000 per year

📍 Newcastle-based | Level 4 Apprenticeship | Full Stack Focus

Are you passionate about coding and ready to launch your tech career? A forward-thinking digital solutions company in Newcastle is looking for a Software Developer Apprentice to join their dynamic team.

This is your chance to get hands-on with real projects, working across both front-end and back-end development while learning from experienced professionals. You’ll be enrolled in a Level 4 Software Developer Apprenticeship, gaining industry-recognised skills and experience that set you up for long-term success.

Important Information

This is not a direct position with Just IT, this is a role for an employer Just IT is working with to source candidates.

Please note the employer asks that you join a 8-12 week training programme delivered by Just IT. This will be delivered remotely and will provide you the necessary experience and skills required to start the role.

You also must be based in/around the area of Newcastle to be eligible for this position.

Key Duties

• Contribute to Back-End Development: Participate in building and maintaining back-end systems and new software applications that meet business requirements
• Gain Experience in Code Quality: Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code under the guidance of senior developers, adhering to coding standards and best practices
• Participate in Code Reviews: Engage in code reviews to learn best practices in code quality and maintainability, providing feedback and implementing changes as needed
• Assist in Testing and Troubleshooting: Help conduct usability testing and data analysis to optimise the user experience and assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in collaboration with the development team
• Stay Updated with Emerging Technologies: Learn about and share knowledge on emerging technologies, tools, and best practices in Full Stack Development to continually improve our processes and offerings
• Learn and Assist in Developing User Interfaces: Work with UX designers and developers to translate wireframes and mock-ps into functional front-end builds using modern web development frameworks and libraries
• Support in Front-End Development: Assist in ensuring that front-end builds are responsive, accessible, and provide an exceptional user experience across all devices and platforms

Eligibility

• Living in the North East area of England (County Durham, Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland, South Tyneside, and Sunderland)
• Employed, self-employed, career changers, returners to work or unemployed within the last 12 months.
• Have the right to live and work in the UK.
• Have access to a reliable internet connection with a PC/ Laptop.
