We are seeking an experienced software developer to join the AGS development team. You will play a key role in our software development and the continued success of our suite of products. In this role you will also manage and advance our software development practices. You will work closely with other developers, QA, and other teams across the business to ensure delivery of quality software in a secure manner.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design of components of larger software systems, ensuring alignment with overall design requirements, including security.
- Develop new geophysical cloud solutions, e.g. for monitoring and processing of large amounts of data.
- Develop and maintain the existing AGS geophysical desktop solutions.
- Work collaboratively with the rest of the development team to investigate and resolve problems when they occur.
- Participate in code reviews, pair-programming, and automation activities, promoting excellence in software engineering practices.
- Produce technical build, test, and release documentation as required.
To be successful in this role, the following technical qualifications, experience, and skills are required
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent.
- 3 years working in relevant Software Engineering roles.
- Experience with or curiosity to learn C++, C#, Delphi, Python, MS Azure, GCP, git, and GitHub actions.
- Experience with application security best practices is a plus.
- Confident oral and written communication skills.
In addition, you should have the following attributes:

- Have an interest in science (mathematical, engineering, or science background).
- Have strong analytical, problem solving, and methodical skills.
- Be passionate, driven, and motivated to work in a highly technical environment.
- Be adaptable – we develop cloud, enterprise, desktop, and web applications.
Working conditions
Your team and particularly your Software Engineering Manager is here to provide support, direction, and inspiration. You will also work with and obtain support across the entire Seequent team and from external parties. This is a hybrid role, and you are expected to be in the AGS Seequent office two to three days a week.
Seequent has committed to providing a well-supported and professional office environment. Therefore, the budget will be in place to ensure this commitment is met.
