About The Role

The Product & Engineering function at Wandertrails is an exciting and challenging place to work, where cutting edge technology meets problem solving and business process modelling. The function takes care of all the technology products used to drive the business and operations at Wandertrails including a developed-from-scratch CRM, Operations portal, Host reservation PWA and most significantly the www.wandertrails.com website. Additionally, the team looks at all integrations between Wandertrails and 20+ partners within and outside the travel industry. We are fully on-cloud and believe in staying up-to-date in terms of technology and trends. Our stack is built on technologies such as Node.JS, MongoDB, NGINX, ElasticSearch, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins to name a few.

The CTO / VP of Engineering is expected to work closely with the CEO and the founding team to ensure that the product vision is realized through excellence in execution. (S)he should have a strong and hands-on development experience across front-end and back-end technologies, and shall serve as a systems architect as well. (S)he will also be responsible for developing the technical strategy, and for developing and maintaining a technical roadmap that will continue to innovate from a technical standpoint. (S)he is also expected to be very hands on with regards to coding, and should have the ability to continuously attract, train and retain quality engineering talent.

We are looking for a person who can carry in a founder mentality and exhibit that kind of ownership. The position will carry a sizable equity component as ESOP
