Vantage MedTech has an exciting opportunity available for a qualified Software Architect to join our team. The Software Architect will be the technical visionary guiding the design and development of our software platforms that power FDA-regulated medical devices. You will work closely with Systems Engineers, Hardware Engineers, Regulatory experts, and Clinicians to ensure our solutions are scalable, secure, and compliant.
Key Responsibilities
- Define the architecture of embedded, mobile, and cloud-based software systems for medical devices.
- Lead high-level design decisions and enforce software engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Design, QA, Regulatory, and Clinical Affairs.
- Ensure software compliance with standards such as IEC 62304, ISO 13485, and FDA 21 CFR Part 820.
- Evaluate new tools, technologies, and development methodologies.
- Mentor and guide Software Engineers across multiple projects.
- Own the documentation of architectural decisions and system designs.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years in an architecture or technical leadership role.
- Experience in regulated industries, preferably medical devices or healthcare.
- Deep knowledge of embedded systems, real-time OS, and/or cloud-based architectures.
- Familiarity with software life cycle processes (IEC 62304) and quality systems.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence across teams
- Experience with cybersecurity standards for medical devices (e.g., ISO/IEC 27001, FDA premarket guidance) is highly desired.
- Proficiency in C/C++, Python, Java, or similar languages preferred.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and modern software tooling also preferred.
