Who are we?

Hi! We’re KLABU, which means ‘club’ in Swahili. We’re a cross-border sports club changing the playing field for refugees. Our mission is to build clubhouses where refugees can find joy, pride and hope through sports, no matter the circumstances. Each clubhouse has its own unique KLABU sportswear, available to supporters worldwide who want to play their part. The goal: to build the world’s biggest sports club and support refugees on their way to a better future.


Now, we’re looking for a Social Media & Online Community Manager to grow and engage KLABU’s community, both online and offline.


Who are you?

You are a social media expert and online community builder who knows how to create meaningful connections. You understand what drives engagement and how to turn audiences into active supporters. You are:

  • Creative and strategic, with a strong sense of what works on social media.
  • Proactive and organised, able to plan ahead while staying flexible for real-time opportunities.
  • A natural connector, passionate about bringing people together around a shared mission.
  • Data-driven, using insights to refine and improve engagement strategies.
  • Excited about KLABU’s mission and the power of sports to change lives.


What you’ll be doing

You will take the lead in managing and growing KLABU’s social media presence while strengthening our online community engagement. You will:

  • Manage and grow KLABU’s social media presence and engagement across platforms.
  • Plan and schedule content in line with KLABU’s marketing calendar.
  • Analyse social media performance and adjust strategies based on data and insights.
  • Engage with and grow KLABU’s global community (including ambassadors / influencers), building strong connections mainly online.
  • Engage with KLABU members (we're launching a memberships programme later this year) and participants at KLABU fundraisers, creating meaningful interactions.
  • Help organise events, activations and pop-up store collaborations, working closely with the other members of the Brand Team.


Your skills and experience
  • 2+ years of experience in social media management and community building.
  • Strong knowledge of social media strategy, content planning and engagement tactics.
  • Strong knowledge of influencer strategy / management.
  • Experience with data analysis and performance tracking to optimise content.
  • Ability to create and maintain genuine relationships with (online) communities.
  • Event planning or activation experience is a plus.
  • Fluent in English (additional languages welcome).
