Position Summary

The Social Media Manager, Team & International Content, will help oversee the Saints and Pelicans’ day-to-day social media planning, content creation, and the development of the teams’ international social strategy. This individual will collaborate with internal social media, production and marketing teams and external agencies to ensure our content is best-in-class and reaches the largest possible audience while delivering on team objectives.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Help supervise social media staff that includes two coordinators, an illustrator, a vertical video editor and two associates
  • Create and manage detailed team content calendars
  • Lead social ideation for practice and game coverage
  • Communicate daily with PR and production staffs to ensure content plans are executed correctly
  • Oversee international strategy for social content
  • Communicate daily with partner agencies to ensure international content plans are executed correctly
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to identify synergies between English and international content plans
  • Work across multiple third parties and time zones, often requiring communications during evenings and weekends
  • Monitor all international platforms to ensure they are correctly programmed and up to date
  • Travel to international events as requested
  • Monitor the daily social conversation of our fans, other brands, teams, and influencers to gauge social media sentiment
  • Closely monitor players’ social media accounts; when possible, work with the players to create unique, engaging content

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, digital media, marketing, or related majors
  • 4+ years of experience in social media. Experience in managing content in or across international markets a plus
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects from inception to launch
  • Knowledge of all social media platforms - including Instagram, TikTok, X, Weibo, Threads and Facebook - and what content performs best on each
  • Ability to work and lead within a fast-paced environment
  • Highly organized and demonstrated ability to work and plan with large, diverse groups
  • Sports experience a must, NFL or NBA experience a plus
  • Ability to communicate verbally and through the written word. Ability to speak and write in French and/or Mandarin a plus
  • Ability to work unusual hours - nights, weekends, and holidays - as needed based on the NFL and NBA schedules
