Summary

We have been delivering Skills Bootcamps, funded by the Department for Education (DfE), since April 2023 and our Programme Coordinators are essential to the success of the programme. Working directly with our delivery partners as an account manager, this role demands excellent relationship skills, as well as an eye for detail and proven project management experience. Responsible for ensuring compliance with DfE guidance, the successful candidate will collaborate with providers and other partners to ensure effective programme management, maintaining strong monitoring systems to track learner progress, milestone achievement and programme impact.

Post: Skills Bootcamp Programme Coordinator

Pay Band: Band 6 - £32,766

Reports to: Skills Bootcamp Programme Manager

Location: Hybrid working with an office base at MyWorkSpot in Maidenhead which we expect colleagues to attend on regular occasions.

Working hours: Monday – Friday – 37.5 hours per week. We will consider part-time or flexible working

Main purpose

The Skills Bootcamp Programme Coordinator will play a key role in the delivery of the Skills Bootcamp contract in Berkshire. Reporting to the Skills Bootcamps Manager, this position focusses on contract management, performance monitoring, and evaluation of Skills Bootcamp delivery.


Key Responsibilities


Operational Delivery

  • Act as Account Manager for specified delivery partners. Liaise with those delivery partners and internal our internal Data Analyst to ensure that all data returns, claim forms and required evidence are accurate and uploaded on time
  • Ensure compliance with Department for Education (DfE) guidance on evidence delivery, and ensure delivery matches the delivery plan and requirements specified in the grant and evidence
  • Contribute to the completion of the DfE project tracker and Grant Management Plan (GMP) documents for monthly sign-off meetings with the Skills Bootcamp Programme Manager. Ensure that all anomalies have been fully explained and are referenced in the paperwork, both from the delivery partner and DfE returns
  • Work with the Programme Manager to implement an evaluation strategy to assess the impact of Skills Bootcamps on residents, businesses and skills shortage areas
  • Work with the Data Analyst to ensure that data is collected, analysed and reported effectively
  • Support the Skills Bootcamp Programme Manager to prepare for the Operations Team meetings
  • Produce concise written reports detailing programme progress, performance and outcomes, making recommendations to the Skills Bootcamp Programme Manager


Project / Contract Management 

  • Work with delivery partner data leads to ensure maintenance of partner quality files to deliver exceptional project audit performance
  • Work with delivery partners to ensure they have rigorous processes in place to establish eligibility and commitment of potential participants, and clear onboarding processes which meet DfE requirements
  • Identify areas where delivery partners are not meeting contractual obligations, and have deviated from the delivery plan signed off in the grant letter, and highlight to the Skills Bootcamp Programme Manager
  • Monitor delivery partner marketing for potential new participants, to ensure adequate marketing and promoting Skills Bootcamps


Relationship building

Work with other internal teams to ensure good communications, avoiding silo working


Person Specification


Education level / Qualifications

Essential

  • Project management qualification and/or significant experience of project management
  • GCSE grades A-C/ 9-4 including Maths and English


Previous Experience 

Essential 

  • Proven ability to develop, implement and deliver project activity
  • Track record in successful delivery of projects, including elements of Account Management
  • Ability to manage projects, contracts and budgets, and allied risks, and deliver against objectives and milestones
  • Ability to plan and organise a range of complex activities and prioritise effectively
  • Ability to engage with delivery partners

Desirable

  • Track record in successful delivery of similar projects, particularly those funded by DfE or other Government agencies 
  • Knowledge of Berkshire skills and employment landscape


Technical Knowledge & Skills

Desirable 

  • Detailed knowledge of DfE Skills Policy in regard to adult skills and specifically Skills Bootcamps


Personal Competencies 

Essential 

  • Effective communication, both verbal and written, and networking skills with a wide range of staff and external stakeholders
  • Good level of digital skills including Microsoft Office (e.g. Teams, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to draft and schedule posts on social media
  • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously in different geographical locations in Berkshire, whilst also able to work effectively within a team (internally and with partners) to collectively achieve results
