Description

Responsible for instructing and coaching ice skating at the Plymouth Ice Center.

Essential Functions

Ensure program instruction is taught in accordance with the ISI progression program.

Ensure a successful skating program which results in engaged skaters and program growth.

• Provide instruction to a variety of skate lesson levels and ages.
• Ensure that class instruction is organized and utilizes proper skating techniques.
• Monitor the well-being of all participants throughout skate lessons.
• Ensure a safe and healthy environment for all skaters.
• Administrate and participate in strategic meetings.
• Establish open and active communication with skating director, coaches, skating participants, parents, and arena staff.
  
  

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Must have passed the skating level that you are assigned to instruct.
• Must be able to demonstrate all skills in the level that you would be assigned to teach.
• Must be able to work weekend hours.
• Must be detail-oriented.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Must be able to communicate positively and effectively with participants.
• Must understand or have ability to learn teaching techniques and proper skill progression.
• Prior teaching experience is a plus.
