About the role

Our Cloud SRE team’s mission is to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our digital banking infrastructure, fostering a robust and efficient financial future for our stakeholders while setting pioneering new industry standards for cloud operations.

• Provide input for ensuring scalability, reliability and fault-tolerant production applications
• Design, build and maintain containerized, 12-factor microservices across a hybrid cloud setup
• Advance, perfect and maintain CI/CD pipelines, their templates and any automation related to the software release lifecycle within Sygnum Engineering
• Provide input on Incident Management strategies as well as hands on development and evolution of the logging flow and alerting
• Provide self-service access tools and solutions for engineers to quickly and securely deploy their applications in production
• Analyze and improve the security of systems while maintaining usability

Our ideal candidate

You are a highly skilled infrastructure professional with a strong background in overseeing cloud architecture for infrastructure, applications, and cloud technologies - eager to join an innovative organization at the forefront of the digital asset economy. You thrive on solving complex infrastructure challenges in regulated environments and are passionate about establishing new standards for the emerging digital asset banking sector. You combine deep technical expertise with an understanding of regulatory requirements for financial institutions.

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or equivalent.
• 5+ years of IT experience with at least 5 years in DevOps or SRE roles or equivalent.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills in English.
• Strong ability to collaborate with and influence diverse teams, serving as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Proven expertise covering at least 75% of:

• Experience with container orchestrators such as Kubernetes or OpenShift
• Experience with designing, building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (preferably with GitLab)
• Experience in architecting, building and securely maintaining infrastructure running on AWS in an immutable (declarative) fashion (preferably Terraform)
• Familiar with DevOps practices and can advance them among peers
• DevSecOps practices with building and adhering to a Secure SDLC
• At least 1 year of experience in backend software development with any programming language (TypeScript, NodeJS, Java, Go, Python, etc.)

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of Service Mesh such as Istio, LinkerD or Cilium
• Knowledge of proprietary monitoring tools such as DataDog or DynaTrace
• Knowledge of API-first tools such as Kong or Tyk
• Experience with meeting strict SLOs in production services
• Experience with designing scalable public cloud landing zones
