ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Provide behavioral health screening of detainees referred by facility staff or identified by prescreening through booking process or nursing services.
* Provide individual and/or group psychoeducation and skills-based interventions.
* Assist custody and medical staff in the monitoring of behavioral health for referred detainees.
* Coordinate with custody and medical staff in the management and treatment of detainees with behavioral health concerns.
* Monitor and assess therapeutic support of segregated and isolated detainees.
* Support and supplement the activities of county behavioral health services in the stabilization of at-risk detainees.
* Coordinate with county behavioral health services for continuity of care and discharge planning/case management via sharing of pertinent patient information.
* Complete documentation as well as maintain records for referral tracking and continuous quality improvement (CQI).
* Facilitate training on behavioral health related topics as requested.
* Supervise direct reports to deliver quality patient care.
* Conduct orientation, skills evaluation, and quarterly coaching for direct reports in a timely manner.
* Monitor and approve staff time sheets to ensure accuracy.
* Partner with medical staff and management teams to facilitate teamwork to collaboratively accomplish organizational goals.
* Demonstrate commitment and dedication to providing behavioral health support and provide training designed to solve problems and make lives easier.
* Ensure correctional facility policies and procedures are accessible for the behavioral health staff.
* Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
* Master's Degree in a behavioral/social science field (e.g., Psychology, Social Work) from an accredited college or university required. (Depending on the state regulations, a bachelor's degree may be sufficient.)
* Current licensure with clinical specialty in the state from the appropriate state licensing board required.
* Active SC LPC-S required, or active SC LISW-CP or LISW-AP with a minimum of 3 years post-license experience required
* Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification required (or must be willing to obtain).
* Valid driver's license and ability to drive a motor vehicle required.
* Must be able to practice independently required.
