Summary

MAU is hiring a Site Grading Superintendent for Landmark Construction in Charleston, SC. As a Site Grading Superintendent, you will oversee all aspects of grading operations on a construction site, including managing crews, ensuring safety compliance, interpreting project plans, coordinating equipment, and maintaining quality control to achieve project deadlines and specifications. This is a direct-hire opportunity.

Shift Information:

  • Monday to Friday | 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM


Required Experience:

  • 7-10 years of experience in construction site grading operations, including knowledge of different grading techniques
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications


General Requirements:

  • Ability to coordinate grading equipment and ensure proper training for operators
  • Strong focus on quality control and compliance with project specifications
  • Experience in preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills to manage a diverse crew
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong understanding of aircraft configuration management and FAA conformity requirements


Essential Functions:

  • Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and grading profiles to ensure accurate execution
  • Develop and maintain detailed work schedules for grading crews, including daily tasks and production targets
  • Monitor project progress against the schedule and identify potential delays, taking corrective action as needed
  • Lead and manage a team of grading operators, laborers, and Foremen
  • Provide on-site training and coaching to ensure safety and quality standards are met
  • Conduct performance evaluations and address any issues with crew members
  • Implement and enforce strict safety protocols on the job site
  • Conduct regular safety meetings with crew members to address hazards and promote safe work practices
  • Report and investigate any safety incidents and take necessary corrective actions
  • Prepare daily and weekly progress reports detailing work completed, production rates, and any challenges encountered
  • Maintain accurate records of material quantities used and job site conditions
  • Communicate effectively with the project manager regarding project status and any potential issues


Working Conditions:

  • Outdoor construction site environment with exposure to varying weather conditions
  • May require extended hours, including weekends, to meet project deadlines


Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and work in a physically demanding environment
  • May require lifting and operating heavy equipment as necessary
  • Capability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted and maintain visual acuity for quality inspections
