Job Title: ICT Site Engineer
Reports to: Project Manager
Job Summary:
The ICT Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing and executing ICT infrastructure installations on-site, configuration of systems, testing and commissioning, ensuring adherence to design specifications, industry standards, and project timelines. The role involves managing first and second fix installations, inspecting and verifying connectivity drawings, shop drawings, and ensuring seamless integration of systems. This role involves working with various stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Site Preparation: Prepare sites for ICT system installation referring shop drawings, connectivity diagrams etc., ensuring compliance with project specifications, identifying potential issues and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
2. Supervise and execute first fix (cabling, containment, conduits, trunking, cable tray installations).
3. Oversee and implement second fix (equipment installation, termination, testing, and commissioning of ICT systems).
4. Testing and Troubleshooting: Perform thorough testing and troubleshooting of ICT systems to ensure they meet client requirements.
5. Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other engineering teams to ensure smooth ICT implementation.
6. Conduct site inspections and audits to verify proper installation of ICT components.
7. Drawings & Documentation:
a. Review and interpret connectivity drawings, ensuring accurate cable routing and network infrastructure planning.
b. Check shop drawings for discrepancies and ensure alignment with overall project requirements.
c. Maintain site documentation, including records of site activities, installation reports, red-line drawings, progress tracking, test results, and issue logs.
d. Provide technical input for revised drawings and specifications as required.
8. Testing & Commissioning:
a. Perform testing and troubleshooting of ICT network components, including structured cabling, switches, routers, and wireless systems with related stakeholders from client side and get acceptance forms signed.
b. Assist in the commissioning process, ensuring all installed components function as per design and client expectations.
c. Identify and resolve technical issues, coordinating with the design and implementation teams.
9. Coordination & Communication:
a. Liaise with design engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders for efficient project execution.
b. Support procurement teams in selecting ICT materials and equipment.
c. Conduct site meetings, reporting progress and challenges to management.
10. Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
11. Site Survey and Preparation: Conduct site surveys to identify potential issues and prepare sites for ICT system installation.

Requirements:
1. Education: Engineering Graduation/ Diploma or degree in ICT, Computer Science, or related field.
2. Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in ICT installation, configuration, and testing.
3. Skills:
a. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, including connectivity and shop drawings.
b. Strong understanding of structured cabling systems, fiber optics, and networking principles.
c. Strong knowledge of ICT systems, including network protocols and architectures.
d. Experience with testing tools (Fluke testers, OTDRs, etc.) and commissioning procedures.
e. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
f. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
g. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
