The Role - Simulation Engineer

(Internal job title - Systems Engineering Consultant)

You are responsible for working as part of an industry / Ministry of Defence (MOD) collaboration providing guidance and development on the simulation elements as part of a key MOD project. The work will include development of guidance on best approaches for implementation of simulation, software development, requirements development, managing of simulation components and liaison with wider team to implement simulation capabilities.


Key Accountabilities


  • Implement simulation elements as part of a wider industry / MOD team
  • Leverage knowledge of simulation systems (such as Computer Generated Forces CGFs) for application within a system of systems approach
  • Translate user requirements into software development tasks
  • Scope and development of data pipelines between components
  • Work as part of an industry team collaborating on development tasks

What we are looking for


  • Experience of Implementation of simulation systems
  • Defence Modelling and Simulation
  • Air / Maritime Domain Experience
  • Development of simulation systems
  • Understanding user requirements and translating to development tasks
  • Rapid Concepting / Prototyping
  • Security - UK Citizenship only (due to nature of the work we cannot accept anyone with a dual passport)
  • Ability to obtain Security Clearance (SC)
  • High level of ethics and integrity
  • Flexible, positive and committed team member who works to a very high standard.
  • Self-starter with a drive and intellectual curiosity to continuously improve and develop professionally


The Team / Office base


You'll report to the Capability Systems Programme Manager - James Wright, and the Project Manager Chris Rolfs. You can be based anywhere in the UK but contractually your office will be Bristol or Stokenchurch (High Wycombe) and you'll be required to come ot the office a few times a month, and there will be required to travel to the current client's site in Farnborough at least twice a week, to work from there on site (Travel and Hotel when required to the client site is paid)


Interview Process might look like this;

  • Preliminary screen call with TA Team
  • 1st interview with the Hiring Manager (MS Teams video call)
  • 2nd (Final) Interview in person with Hiring manager and Stakeholders and TA Partner where relevant.
