Job Summary

A Simulation and Analysis Engineer Senior is needed for a multinational manufacturing company that produces and distributes trucks, buses and construction equipment, as well as marine and industrial drive systems in the Greensboro, NC area. This role will perform, manage, and validate structural and durability simulations for vehicle systems to ensure design reliability, while collaborating cross-functionally to develop and execute CAE strategies and project deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Perform FEA analysis (static, modal, non-linear, vibration, durability/fatigue) on components, subsystems, and complete vehicles.
  • Conduct technical research, analyze simulation results, prepare engineering reports, and recommend design improvements.
  • Collaborate with design engineers and testing teams to create durability and reliability test plans and instrumentation strategies.
  • Perform validation studies to correlate simulation models with physical test data.
  • Develop simulation strategies and CAE methodologies with global technical strategy teams.
  • Estimate CAE budgets for new projects alongside project managers and engineering stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and delegate CAE tasks within the team and manage project deliveries.
  • Oversee simulation work across internal engineering teams and external partners.

Skills

  • strong knowledge of structural mechanics, durability, and linear/non-linear analysis.
  • Experience with CAD tools (PTC Creo preferred), automotive background is a plus.
  • Experience with Linux/HPC systems.
  • Vehicle dynamics simulation experience (Motionview, TruckSim) is a plus.
  • Expertise in Linux OS and HPC systems usage.
  • Shell/Linux scripting experience is a plus.
  • Practical validation and experimental measurement experience.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (6+ years experience) or
  • Master's degree (4+ years experience) in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of simulation experience in a product development environment (preferably Class 8 heavy-duty trucks).
  • 6+ years experience with FEA tools: NASTRAN, Optistruct, nCode, Abaqus, Hyperworks, etc.
