JOB DESCRIPTION

Silicon Photonics Design Engineer

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES.

• Design of silicon photonic integrated optical components and circuits
• Transfer of designs to manufacturing, working closely with layout and wafer process engineers
• Preparation of documentation for design libraries and design reviews
• Production of test plans for fabricated devices
• Analysis and presentation of test data

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• PhD in integrated optics/silicon photonics
• 3+ years of relevant experience in the design and characterization of silicon photonic devices
• Proficiency in standard integrated optical simulation and design tools, and in MATLAB coding
• Good understanding of silicon fabrication processes
• Ability to adapt and operate under tight deadlines
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

• Hands-on experience of testing optical devices
• Experience of the application of silicon photonics to LIDAR systems
