We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Sign Language Interpreter and Scheduling Coordinator to join our team. This unique dual-role position combines the delivery of high-quality on-site and virtual interpretation services with critical scheduling and coordination responsibilities. Interpreter Responsibilities
Provide professional on-site and virtual American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation for Deaf and Hard of Hearing clientele
Ensure interpretation meets standards of accuracy, clarity, cultural competence, and professionalism.
Bi-lingual fluency in diverse subject matter and settings.
Uphold strict confidentiality regarding all sensitive information, whether shared verbally, electronically, or in print.
Scheduling & Coordination Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for scheduling and coordinating interpreter services
Respond to client and interpreter inquiries via phone and email in a timely and professional manner.
Schedule and confirm interpreter assignments for both on-site and video-based requests.
Monitor interpreter availability and manage work orders to ensure timely fulfillment of all service requests.
Address interpreter concerns, resolve scheduling conflicts, and respond to same-day or urgent scheduling needs.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within scheduling systems or platforms.
Collaborate closely with clients, interpreters, and internal team members to ensure exceptional service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Advanced skills with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook) and email communication.
Basic knowledge of the interpreter scheduling platform, uSked.
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and multitasking skills.
Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in diverse environments.
Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in high-pressure or emotionally charged situations.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Knowledge and ability to effectively respond to unique interpreting situations with ethics and confidentiality.
Physical capability to perform interpreting duties, including standing and signing for extended periods.
Ability to handle multiple priorities, manage time-sensitive requests, and adapt quickly to changes.
Ability to adhere to outlined processes and support recruitment efforts.
Education And Experiences
Bachelor’s Degree minimum or equivalent. .
Minimum 2 years of experience as a qualified ADA interpreter or in a healthcare, administrative, or customer service role.
Accepted levels for sign language interpreters: pre-certified, qualified, or NAD-RID nationally certified.
Associate degree in ASL Interpreting or related fields
