Hiring Range: $16.09 - $18.50GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Performs skilled work in focused and concentrated areas of the Parks and Recreation Department. DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: Under general supervision an employee in this class performs skilled work involving various areas of parks and recreation. Such areas are defined as Train Operator; Splash Pad Operator; Building Attendants, AV and Technical Operators, Bus Driver, Athletic Specialist, or Concessions Supervisors. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment of the position.Shuttle Operator specifically includes: Drive shuttle over specified routes or to specified destinations according to time schedules, complying with traffic regulations to ensure that passengers have a smooth and safe ride.Park vehicles at loading areas so that passengers can board.Advise passengers to be seated and orderly while on shuttle.Perform daily pre-trip shuttle inspection.Assist passengers, such as elderly or disabled individuals, on and off shuttle, ensure they are seated properly and answer questions about schedules or routes.Load and unload passengers via accessible ramp as needed.Handle passenger emergencies or disruptions.Record information, such as maintenance logbook.Listen to and sometimes address passenger complaints.Ensure the shuttle route stays on schedule.Account for all passengers before leaving a location.Report delays or accidents.Maintain cleanliness of shuttle.Working independently to provide superior customer service to shuttle passengers.Responsible for attentive operation of assigned shuttle in accordance with established safety protocols.Must be 21 years of age with a valid NC driver’s license.General Duties of AllEnforces rules and regulations at parks and facilities.Performs routine cleaning and custodial duties.Performs related tasks as required.
