Shipboard Compensation Coordinator

Summary

JOB SUMMARY: Provide coordination support to the Shipboard Compensation team. Maintain and update compensation for all crew members, positions, and contracts as compensation changes arise throughout the year and annual increase processes. Maintain various systems up to date as it relates to Company infrastructure, compensation tables, and individual shipboard team member records. Assist with annual compensation processes and other projects as needed.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process compensation changes required for shipboard team members meeting specific eligibility provisions such as seniority increments, special pay compensation, and bonus.
  • Monitor the Shipboard Compensation mailbox on a daily basis. Reply to inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Create new job codes, including appropriate pay scale values and corresponding posts on the ships according to the manning.
  • Ensure posts across all vessels are up to date according to budgeted manning.
  • Process changes per approved Change Request Forms received by shipboard compensation management. Document final approved forms in appropriate shared folders.
  • Review and process all compensation requests including shipboard team member salary, status changes (temporary assignments, hire/re-hires, and overall contract changes), position contracts and availability.
  • Review daily, weekly, and monthly recurring reports for changes, ensuring to action all changes in the necessary systems (MAPS, OneView, MXP, and PeopleSoft).
  • Process all shipboard team member movement, status changes, and salary changes in PeopleSoft system accordingly. Work with payroll department to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
  • Process annual increases for all eligible shipboard team members (union and non-union) across all brands; ensure to remain in compliance with union contracts and pay scales.
  • Create compensation statements for Shipboard team members using appropriate templates.
  • Assist with relevant system testing, data entry projects or special projects as assigned by department management.
  • Work closely with Shipboard HR Operations to ensure timely and accurate compensation modifications.
  • Identify compliance errors that impact compensation for shipboard team members.
  • Perform other job-related functions as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

DEGREE TYPE: High School Diploma

FIELD(S) OF STUDY: Associate's degree or above preferred. Human Resources, Business Administration, or other relevant fields of study.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 0-1 years' experience in administrative or Human Resources positions. Cruise or hospitality industry experience a plus.


COMPETENCIES/SKILLS:

  • Strong communication skills, written and oral.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office programs, with special emphasis in MS Excel.
  • Ability to manage time effectively to meet compensation input deadlines.
  • Ability to build proficiency with internal systems (MAPS, MXP, OneView, and PeopleSoft).
