In pursuit of this mission, the National Gallery requires unarmed security officer services to supplement its in-house security force. Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Shift Supervisor to join our team. The Shift Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing operations during designated shifts, ensuring smooth workflow, and maintaining high standards of customer service. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to driving performance and efficiency. Key Responsibilities for Shift Supervisor : Conduct at least one supervisory inspection of each assigned post daily to ensure adherence to security protocols and standards. Ensure that all Security Officers are visually inspected daily and promptly report any infractions or issues to higher management on a weekly basis. Submit discipline observations to the Assistant Account Manager or the Account Manager as necessary, following established procedures and protocols. Coordinate monthly team meetings to discuss security updates, address concerns, and foster teamwork and collaboration among Security Officers. Conduct random post inspections and questioning to assess Security Officers' performance and adherence to procedures. Administer ad hoc corrections and provide guidance to Security Officers to address any identified issues or areas for improvement. Perform daily building opening procedures, including assisting gallery sector supervisors in preparing the sector for visitors, adjusting schedules, issuing equipment, conducting uniform inspections, creating relief slips, and conducting post inspections. Execute daily building closing procedures, ensuring all guests have exited the building safely, collecting all gallery and relief slips, assisting gallery sector supervisors in securing the sector, and collecting all Gallery-issued equipment to maintain security and operational integrity. These responsibilities ensure that the Shift Supervisor effectively monitors the performance of Security Officers, maintains security standards, addresses any issues promptly, and contributes to the overall safety and security of the premises. Qualifications for Shift Supervisor : Must be at least twenty-one (25) years of age. Minimum of three (2) years of successful experience in the security industry,with a proven track record of effective leadership and management. Previous experience in civilian community law enforcement, military service law enforcement, or commercial or industrial guard service is preferred. Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English to effectively communicate with staff, management, and stakeholders. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively. Excellent decision-making abilities, with the capacity to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
