Fabrication Applications Engineer

We provide machine-specific applications engineering and integration solutions for our customers' most complex manufacturing challenges. Our Applications Engineers assist with machine and tooling selection, performing machine demonstrations, process automation, part programming, and process optimization.
We are looking for a fabricating equipment expert who is looking to use their skills and knowledge in a different type of role.

- $75,000 - $90,000/year (based on experience and qualifications)

Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site training per customer requirements
- Assist customers with technical, application, or service-related questions; programming, tooling, nesting, and part processing.
- Work with machine tool sales to prepare for sales demonstrations; order materials required for demo; program and set-up machine; run demo and answer any customer questions. Prepare time estimates or process plans, as required, to generate sales.
- Prepare materials, which include, but are not limited to; time studies, tool lists, process plans, layout sketches, presentation materials, and proposals.
- Prepare for and participate in trade shows and promotional shows; write programs, order tooling and materials, set up jobs. Demonstrate product, answer questions.
- Other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as required by the position.
Requirements
- 5+ years of metal fabrication experience, such as laser and press brake programming, set-up, and/or operation.
- Water Jet cutting, plasma, turret punch, or plate roll experience is a plus, but is not required.
- Strong technical expertise to perform programming and applications support; tool design/tooling selection.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM programming / nesting software, especially SolidWorks helpful. Willing to train the right candidate.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment. Desire to collaborate with and assist team members.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for complex problems.
- Attention to detail. Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks.
- Valid driver's license. Clean driving record.
- Travel could be required, up to approximately 20% of the time.
- Degree/certificate in related field preferred (but not required); Machine Tool Technology, Manufacturing & Engineering Technology, etc., OR 5+ years of relevant experience.
