Our Kansas City Warehouse, Wholesale Sheet Metal (WSM) is looking for a Sheet Metal Fabricator. This role is responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and riveting of sheet metal products, such as boots, duct, and various HVAC fittings. The role is responsible for setting up and operating fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal; shaping metal over anvils, operating soldering and rivet machines to join sheet metal parts; and inspecting, assembling, and smoothing seams and joints of burred surfaces.

All Sheet Metal Fabricators require good manufacturing and fabrication skills, great communication, and strong safety awareness! You’ll also need to have good attention to detail, accuracy & professionalism, a great attendance record, and the ability to get along well with others.

In this role, you will put your skills to good use by:

  • Setting up and operating hand and power tools common to the sheet metal trade.
  • Laying out, positioning, aligning, riveting and securing parts and assemblies prior to assembly.
  • Operating various sheet metal shears, brake presses, roll former, rivet machine and other sheet metal operations.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness and organization of their work area.
  • Performs work duties in a safe manner and always adheres to company safety policies and procedures.

Recommended Requirements

  • High School diploma or its GED equivalent
  • 1 or more years of experience working in a sheet metal fabrication capacity.
  • High degree of personal ethics, and commitment to safety.
  • Must be able to work independently, use sound judgment, and make thoughtful decisions in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to communicate well interpersonally, as well as can follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must be able to understand and abide by company policies and procedures.
