Summary

The SharePoint Engineer/Developer monitors SharePoint Portal Server performance, user access and solution deployment across the client environment. Provides post-installation support, configuration, security, operation, and maintenance of servers, equipment, and software related to SharePoint platform.

Required Skills - 5+ years of experience with SharePoint and deploying solutions across mid- to large-sized organizations.

5+ years of experience with network configuration, security and maintenance

Experience leading a SharePoint administration team.

Strong comprehension of Microsoft SharePoint Farm best practices.

Expert knowledge of SharePoint Out of the Box (OOTB) features.

Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Visio etc.)

Expert knowledge of Microsoft Internet Explorer and other supported browsers.

Job Duties - Coordinate with Team Lead and other management in standardizing and optimizing the way data/information is stored, secured and retrieved.

Work with IT Project Managers and Analysts to design and develop solutions to address business needs.

Research and analyze procedural problems and provide recommendations for improvements and changes.

Identify opportunities and propose changes to the SharePoint team to make the SharePoint environment a more effective solution.

Examine business requirement documents and create technical design documents, unit test, system test and implementation plans for small to complex projects.

Draft programs, time estimates and project schedules based on prioritization and business requirements.

Ensure Service Level Agreements between department and operational or technical areas are met.

Synthesize complex or diverse information, collect and research data, use intuition and experience to complement data, work flows and procedures.

The position requires a full-time work schedule. Full-time is defined as working at least 40 hours per week, plus any additional hours as requested or as needed to meet business requirements.

Collectively responsible for the uptime and health of the company's database environments on a 24 x 7 basis.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements - Expert knowledge of Microsoft Internet Explorer and other supported browsers.

Expert knowledge of SharePoint integration with the Microsoft stack, (Office, Windows, Windows Mobile and related Microsoft enterprise applications).

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Client and Server operating systems.

Working knowledge of SharePoint tangent systems including Active Directory Rights Management Server (AD RMS and others.

Working knowledge of web design/graphic design tools (Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Publisher and related image manipulation software).

Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle methods (Waterfall, Agile).

Understanding of TCP/IP, networking and Microsoft servers based operating systems.

Developing and delivering internal and external presentations to various levels.

Managing diverse responsibilities, projects and assignments while maintaining a high level of quality.

MCTS certification in SharePoint 2010 configuration and/or development.

Must have proficient working knowledge of SQL, Internet Information Server, Active Directory and Microsoft Office desktop application integration with SharePoint

Knowledge of Project Server, Team Foundation Server configuration a plus.

An effective team member with the ability to meet targets under constraints, a strong ability to grasp new concepts with ease, excellent presentation skills, an effective communicator - both verbal and written.

Desired Skills & Experience - Strong ability to Design business solutions using, SharePoint Out of the Box (OOTB) features, MS Office, InfoPath, SharePoint Designer, Visio, MS Access, SQL Server Report Builder, and PowerPivot

Use judgment and creativity to design solution options to meet requirements/specifications as provided by business analysts and platform owners and team.

Strong ability to quickly document technical requirements, processes, policies, procedures, best practices etc. to technical and non-technical audiences.

Strong ability to flowchart, diagram and chart business processes, workflow and process flow.

Ability to quickly identify, learn and recommend third-party tools to meet business and technical requirements.

Ability to edit, run and schedule Windows & SharePoint PowerShell scripts as directed.

Ability to research and learn new skills without formalized classroom training. Ability to apply concepts learned in formalized training and conference settings to organizational challenges.

Strong analytical skills to support independent and effective decisions and assist in troubleshooting and resolution of any failures due to hardware or software issues.

Ability to prioritize tasks and work with multiple priorities, sometimes under limited time constraints.

Perseverance in the face of resistance or setbacks.

Effective interpersonal skills and ability to maintain a positive working relationship with others.

Verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
