Summary

Luna Data Solutions is seeking a ServiceNow Technical Consultant for a long term contract opportunity in Austin TX. Might start off Hybrid but potentially 100% onsite from the beginning. Must be in Austin area or willing to relocate.


  • Candidate should be prepared to come into the office 5 days a week; however, there is no official notice yet

ServiceNow Senior Technical Consultant


  • Responsible for to-be process translation, functional design requirements, test plans, test management, and process development support of the Major Incident Management module and MS Teams integration.
  • Will assist the architect with the implementation, development, core configuration, administration, maintenance, support, and technical expertise of client’s Major Incident Management module and MS Teams integration.
  • Process development and functional design for Major Incident Management (MIM) processes.
  • Aid architect with implementation, including configuration, customizations, and integrations.
  • Collaborate directly with users to review, analyze, and evaluate needs to move processes into ClientNow.
  • Extensive knowledge of ServiceNow capabilities.
  • Gather business functional and non-functional requirements, translating them into technical specifications while collaborating closely with the architect.
  • Facilitate and document AS-IS and TO-BE process flows.
  • Write test cases and scripts to validate that the code is working as documented.
  • Write and/or assist in the creation of process documentation.
  • Document custom applications' functional design and usage.
  • Support, drive, and document all SDLC activities, including: Process documentation, Functional design document, Test plans, including test scripts, quality control, and UAT management, Knowledge transfer documentation and sessions to Client.
  • Provide alternatives to customizations by exploring out-of-the-box capabilities to fulfill process needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the existing Client ServiceNow Technical team to transition day-to-day support and maintenance of the application to Client.
  • A current U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder who resides in the United States.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Required Skills


  • 3+ years development and administration in ServiceNow ITSM, Service Catalog, Major Incident Management
  • 5+ years of JavaScript, Jelly Scripting, Glide, HTML, XML, and/or JSON
  • 5+ years of strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to gather, understand, organize, and interpret relevant data & information
  • 3+ years of development and administration in ServiceNow
  • 5+ years of experience implementing and/or process design for ServiceNow
  • 8+ years of experience in process development
  • 8+ years of experience in extracting business, functional, and non-functional requirements from business units and IT staff
  • 5+ years of experience in test case planning and quality assurance reviews of test scripts
  • 5+ years of experience with QA/QC reviews
  • 7+ years of experience analyzing raw data
  • 8+ years of experience documenting requirements and translating functional requirements to technical specifications
  • 5+ years of experience facilitating large group meetings with internal and external resources


Preferred Skills


  • Certified ServiceNow Application Developer
  • Certified System Administrator for ServiceNow
