Norseman Services, an Information Technology professional services company and a wholly owned subsidiary of Norseman Incorporated, is seeking a Principal Technical Consultant to support ServiceNow customers. Norseman Incorporated includes Norseman Defense Technologies, a Value-Added Reseller (VAR) with over 30 years of experience solving complex IT challenges. Norseman Services leverages leading-edge technology and a highly experienced engineering team to deliver robust, technically superior, and cost-effective solutions to meet ServiceNow customers’ most complex IT requirements.

The Principal Technical Consultant will be part of the Norseman Services delivery organization, focused on building technical credibility and trust with customers around foundational components of the ServiceNow platform. This individual is highly skilled in ServiceNow IT Operations Management (ITOM), Configuration Management Database (CMDB), and Discovery components with a breadth of experience in designing, developing, and implementing enterprise solutions on the ServiceNow platform. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in the ITOM module and submodules, CMDB configurations, and integrations with a proven track record delivering best of breed enterprise solutions.

This role is on site ONE day a week. Candidate needs to be local to the D.C. area or Tampa, FL area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and configure ServiceNow ITOM modules, including Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, and Orchestration
• Build and maintain a robust CMDB ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and alignment with ITIL best practices
• Implement integrations with third-party tools and systems to enhance ITOM and CMDB functionality
• Build and tune dashboards and reports providing insight into organizational assets
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define technical solutions, and deliver high-quality implementations
• Optimize ServiceNow workflows, business rules, scripts, and UI policies to support IT operations
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring junior developers, and driving best practices for ServiceNow development
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to ITOM and CMDB configurations
• Stay current with ServiceNow updates, certifications, and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 7+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience, with at least 5 years focused on ITOM and CMDB
• Expertise in ServiceNow ITOM (Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, Orchestration)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and their integration with ServiceNow
• Strong knowledge of CMDB architecture, data modeling, and normalization
• Ability to build and maintain a robust CMDB ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and alignment with ITIL best practices
• Proficiency in ServiceNow Flow Designer and Automation Engine
• Experience with ServiceNow integrations (REST, SOAP, MID Server, Integration Hub)
• ITIL v3 or v4 Foundation certification or equivalent knowledge
• Experience with CSDM 4.0 and it’s relation to ITOM
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Strong communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders

• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer
• Familiarity with ServiceNow AIOps
• Experience in creating custom Patterns
• Knowledge of ServiceNow scripting (JavaScript, Glide API, AngularJS) and platform customization
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Prior experience providing technical leadership on ServiceNow projects or mentoring technical teams
• Active Security Clearance
• CompTIA Security+ Certification
