Summary

Are you obsessed with the emerging world of Light Electric Vehicles (ebikes, cargo bikes, scooters, and low speed vehicles)? So are we. We want them to proliferate and transform DC into the city of the future. To do that, our mission is not only to educate and inspire people, but also ease the process of ownership with options like rentals, service, leasing, financing, certified pre-owned, and insurance. We love the vehicles, but we also love the process of making people life-long riders.

Service is at the heart of our business. We want to be the place where people can confidently have their ebikes and other LEV's serviced. Now in our second year, we are looking for a player/coach to take over our service department and bring us to the next level in terms of professionalism, services offered, and new business lines like remote servicing and trade-ins. We're also looking to debut larger vehicles like electric LSVs (street legal golf carts) into our rentals and sales.

This is a unique job opportunity because we are willing to give a very large piece of equity in the business to the right person who can manage both the service and potentially the sales/rentals businesses as well. If you have a strong background in vehicle maintenance (bike, car, or golf cart), but want to manage a fast growing business, this is your moment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead our service department
  • Perform some repairs and delegate the rest to the team
  • Hire junior technicians as our service volume grows
  • Handle warranty requests with our vendors
  • Do parts and supply ordering
  • Create and meet metrics around service department revenue performance and customer satisfaction
  • Roll out new business lines like mobile service and a trade-in program

Qualifications

  • 3 years working in a service department as a vehicle or bike technician or mechanic
  • Knowledge of electrical systems (batteries, controllers, motors)
  • Ideally some operations or logistics managerial experience
  • Technician or mechanic certifications a plus

We look forward to hearing more about your interest in our mission and business. Energy and enthusiasm are the two things most important to us.
