To support this mission, we're looking for a talented SEO Specialist to optimize our web presence on the page level, build high-quality backlink profiles, and drive organic growth. You’ll be responsible for optimizing individual pages across the Apify ecosystem, including Actor READMEs, blog posts, and product pages, while working on link-building campaigns that increase our domain authority and search visibility.

This role requires technical SEO knowledge, content optimization skills, and strategic thinking. You'll need to analyze pages for optimization opportunities and implement changes that improve search visibility while maintaining a great user experience. We need someone who understands both the technical aspects of SEO and link building, as well as how to create great content that ranks.

What You'll Be Working On

• Conduct page-level SEO audits and implement optimizations for Actor READMEs, blog posts, product pages, and other content.
• Develop and execute external link-building strategies to acquire high-quality backlinks from reputable domains.
• Create and implement internal linking structures to improve site architecture, distribute page authority, and enhance user navigation across the whole Apify site.
• Work closely with content creators to ensure all new content is optimized for search engines right from the start.
• Monitor page performance in search results and make data-driven adjustments to improve rankings.
• Collaborate with developers to implement technical SEO improvements.
• Assist with high-level SEO strategy development and implementation.
• Stay current with SEO best practices and algorithm updates, sharing all key insights with the team.
  
  

They say there are no perfect candidates, but you might be the one if you have:

• 3+ years of hands-on SEO experience, with a track record of results in improving organic traffic.
• Strong understanding of on-page SEO factors and how to optimize them.
• Experience with link-building strategies and outreach.
• Proficiency with SEO tools like Ahrefs, Google Search Console, and Screaming Frog.
• Ability to analyze SEO data and translate it into actionable recommendations.
• Experience optimizing technical content for technical audiences is a plus.
• Comfortable with basic HTML and understanding of how web pages are structured.
• Experience with content management systems (Ghost is a plus) and making direct optimizations.
• Familiarity with technical SEO, so you can identify and fix common issues like broken links, crawl errors, and indexing problems that might limit search performance.
• Ability to see the big picture and think strategically, coming up with innovative ideas that can move the needle at scale rather than just focusing on incremental improvements.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain SEO concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Self-motivated with strong problem-solving abilities and an eye for detail.
• English at C1 level or higher; Apify is an English-first company.
  
  

By the end of the first 3 months, we expect you to:

• Complete comprehensive onboarding to understand Apify's products, culture, and how teams work together.
• Become proficient with our SEO tools, processes, and workflows.
• Conduct SEO audits of key pages and implement initial optimizations.
• Begin developing and implementing internal linking strategies.
• Get familiar with our current link-building campaigns and strategies, and begin actively contributing to these ongoing initiatives.
• Learn our content creation process and begin providing SEO guidance to content creators.
• Identify quick wins for improving page-level SEO and implement them.
• Familiarize yourself with the Apify platform and Actors to better understand our product ecosystem.
  
  

By the end of the first 6 months, we expect you to:

• Take partial ownership of page-level SEO optimization across the website.
• Implement and manage a comprehensive internal linking strategy.
• Continue developing, improving, and maintaining a sustainable link-building program.
• Demonstrate measurable improvements in organic search visibility for key pages.
• Provide regular reporting on SEO performance and recommendations.
• Contribute meaningful insights to high-level SEO strategy discussions.
• Explain SEO best practices to other team members.
• Work independently on SEO projects with minimal supervision.
