One of GTT's eCommerce clients is looking for an SEO Analyst on contract for ongoing initiatives.
This role is focused on driving SEO performance through technical optimization, on-page improvements, and strategic content planning.
Responsibilities include improving site structure, page speed, and indexing, while collaborating with content teams to guide keyword strategy and optimize existing pages (not writing content).
The position also involves SEO analytics, reporting, and consultation on local SEO, retail partners, and backlink strategies. Strong use of SEO tools and collaboration across teams is essential.
Accountabilities:
1. On-Page SEO
Optimizing title tags, meta descriptions, and header tags.
Conducting keyword research and implementing target keywords.
Improving website content for readability and SEO.
Optimizing URL structures and internal linking.
2. Technical SEO
Improving website speed and performance.
Fixing broken links, crawl errors, and indexing issues.
Implementing structured data (Schema Markup).
Ensuring mobile-friendliness and core web vitals optimization.
3. Content Strategy & Optimization
Delivering a content strategy & calendar based on targeting keywords, while considering our brand calendar, seasonality, trending words, and AI
Collaborating with content teams to create SEO-friendly content, through keyword strategy
Optimizing current blog posts, landing pages, and product descriptions.
Using SEO tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Ahrefs, SEMrush) to track content performance.
Note - this role is NOT required to write any of the blogs, but rather consult our copywriters with content topics. This role would be required to optimize current pages on the website.
4. SEO Analytics & Reporting
Monitoring rankings, organic traffic, and conversions.
Conducting competitor analysis and market research.
Preparing reports on SEO performance and recommendations.
5. Other:
Local SEO (Ordinary Retail Stores): Managing Google My Business (GMB) listings.
Retail Partner SEO Consultation: Consult on our retailer SEO strategy (Sephora, Ulta)
Link Building Off-Page SEO Consultation with our Comms Team: Recommending high-quality backlinks through outreach and partnerships.
Monitoring competitors' backlink strategies.
Must-Have Requirements
Strong experience with on-page SEO, including title tags, meta descriptions, headers, internal linking, and keyword implementation
Solid grasp of technical SEO, including site speed, crawl/indexing issues, structured data, and mobile optimization
Proficiency with SEO tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, and Ahrefs
Nice-to-Have Requirements
Experience managing Google My Business (GMB) and local SEO efforts
Familiarity with retail partner SEO strategy, particularly for platforms like Sephora or Ulta
Understanding of backlink strategy and outreach, including collaboration with comms/PR teams
Background in seasonal/trend-based keyword planning and content calendar creation
Experience performing competitor and market SEO analysis for strategic insights
Ability to develop and guide content strategy (without writing content) and optimize existing blog/product/landing pages
Strong analytical skills, including tracking rankings, traffic, conversions, and delivering actionable reports
