Role: Senior Test Engineer, WLAN

Locations: Santa Clara, CA 95054 (Hybrid local Candidate)

Duration: Full-time

Visa: USC OR GC only

Experience: 5 – 8 Years

Interview Process:

Position Summary

The Senior Wireless Test Engineer will be a stakeholder in hardware and software quality outcomes of products in the wireless portfolio. In your day-to-day work, you may coordinate with both US and offshore members.

 

Must Haves

Top 3 Mandatory Skills:

  • APs, mobile hotspots, RF signal containment chambers/enclosures, Leveraging tools such as traffic generators (Ixia, Verawave), Wireshark, etc. for testing
  • Education/qualification: Bachelors


What you will do:

  • Contribute to existing and author new test plans and test cases
  • Contribute to existing and author new test automation suites.
  • Execute end-to-end new feature and regression test suites to validate Belden wireless products
  • Executing test cases leveraging wireless controllers, APs, mobile hotspots, RF signal containment chambers/enclosures, PoE, and other HW/SW as needed
  • Leveraging tools such as traffic generators (Ixia, Verawave), Wireshark, etc. for testing
  • Discovery and driving the resolution of internally found defects improving product quality of software releases
  • Drive QA initiatives through cross-functional collaboration with wireless development teams, software architects, and various product teams
  • Documentation of processes and work artifacts contributing to proof-of-concept demonstrations as needed
  •  

What you will bring:

  • Experience creating test cases leveraging feature specification documents and/or Jira epics/user stories
  • Experience contributing to test automation framework repositories and participating in QA automation peer review processes
  • Experience with CI/CD for QA automation
  • Experience testing in an Agile SDLC model
  • Experience testing 802.11 variants, RF signaling, controller/AP deployments, hotspots, mobility
  • Understanding of TCP/IP and protocol implications to wireless networking (e.g., DHCP, 802.1x, VLANs, etc)
  • Experience testing wireless security mechanisms including WEP, WPA, WPA2, and WPA3
  • Experience analyzing logs
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in a related technical field (Electrical, Electronics Engineering/Computer Science) or equivalent experience in hardware and/or software engineering.
