Senior Microsoft ConfigMgr/SCCM Engineer

About The Role
We’re looking for a skilled Senior Microsoft ConfigMgr/SCCM Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and management of our Microsoft Configuration Manager (ConfigMgr/SCCM) infrastructure.
In this role, you’ll ensure the smooth operation of our enterprise patching, software deployment, and systems management processes.
You’ll also play a critical role in maintaining the health, performance, and security of our endpoint management ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the subject matter expert for ConfigMgr/SCCM design, implementation, administration, and support.
- Manage the end-to-end monthly Microsoft patching cycle (Patch Tuesday), from ingestion and testing to enterprise deployment.
- Maintain and optimize core infrastructure components including the ConfigMgr primary site, management points, distribution points, SQL databases, and Cloud Management Gateway (CMG).
- Lead ConfigMgr/SCCM upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with project managers, security teams, and other stakeholders to align infrastructure with business goals.
- Create and deploy software packages, applications, and OS images.
- Manage hardware/software inventory and ensure accurate reporting.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts and other automation tools to streamline ConfigMgr/SCCM tasks.
- Integrate with tools such as ServiceNow for incident, request, and change management.
- Work with Tenable and other security platforms to identify and mitigate system vulnerabilities.
- Participate in change control processes and clearly communicate the purpose, risks, and benefits of proposed changes.
- Contribute to capacity planning, performance tuning, and system reliability initiatives.
Qualifications
- Proven experience designing and supporting scalable, enterprise-grade infrastructure using ConfigMgr/SCCM.
- Deep understanding of Microsoft’s monthly patching cycle and experience managing patch deployments in large environments.
- Strong technical background in:
Microsoft technologies (Active Directory, Windows OS, Windows Server, BitLocker, Windows Defender)
Microsoft cloud platforms (Azure, Microsoft 365, Intune, Azure Automation, Dynamics 365)
- Proficiency in scripting with PowerShell for task automation.
- Experience collaborating with cybersecurity teams to align system configurations with security best practices.
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow and vulnerability management tools such as Tenable (preferred).
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot cross-functional, cross-platform issues.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills – capable of clearly conveying technical concepts to various audiences.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field – or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience managing ConfigMgr/SCCM and Windows environments.
- Experience working in large-scale enterprise IT environments.
