Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sr. Web Developer to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining web applications and websites. You would be working on the backbone business management system running a nationwide Insurance marketing organization which has been around since 1994, which is part of an industry leading parent company. Your primary focus will be on creating a seamless user experience, optimizing functionality, and ensuring that the site is responsive and visually appealing.

As a Sr. Web Developer, you will work closely to deliver high-quality web solutions and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives. The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP, as well as experience with frameworks and databases. This role requires a problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and a passion for developing innovative web applications that support business growth.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of the existing business management system and handle both the maintenance and ongoing improvements.
• Examine the architecture to identify opportunities for optimization and ensure the system can evolve with the business's changing needs.
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand complex business challenges and provide technical solutions to improve business efficiency.
• Be part of a small, tight-knit group, which likely requires close collaboration with both technical and non-technical team members to deliver effective solutions.
• Given the focus on back-end development, you’ll be responsible for the server-side logic, databases, and integration with front-end code where necessary.
  
  
  

Qualifications

• 5+ Years of Experience: A strong track record in web development, particularly back-end-focused roles.
• Technical Expertise with PHP, including experience with MVC frameworks that would involve working with existing PHP codebases and improving them.
• Familiarity with the Microsoft IIS platform and hosting PHP applications on it.
• Experience with MSSQL - writing complex queries and working with stored procedures, ensuring smooth interaction with databases.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies such as Javascript, HTML, and CSS is required for integration and working with front-end developers or handling small tasks independently.
• Experience identifying inefficiencies in the current system and propose solutions to streamline business processes.
  
  
  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proven experience in back-end web development (5+ years preferred).
• Proficiency in back-end programming languages such as PHP, Node.js, Python, Java, or Ruby.
• Strong experience with databases (MySQL, MSSQL, etc.) and writing complex queries.
• Experience with API development and integration.
• Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git).
• Knowledge of cloud computing services (e.g., AWS, Azure) and hosting environments.
• Understanding of web application security, data protection, and best practices.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills and ability to handle high-volume traffic.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a focus on teamwork.
