The Senior Virtual Construction Engineer is responsible for supporting the use of virtual construction across
DAVIS projects including trade coordination, visualization studies, site logistics plans, 4d scheduling, direct layout
from model, and 5d estimating.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform responsibilities with excellence in service, integrity and building relationships as exemplified in
DAVIS core values
- Coordinate, manage and manipulate models created by others
- Assist with project plan during both preconstruction and construction phases
- Prepare virtual construction guidelines based on project requirements
- Generate models and produce Virtual Construction deliverables to support opportunities and projects
- Collaborate with other members of the Integrated Construction Group, such as scheduling, layout
engineering, quality management, and safety, to further integrate Virtual Construction efforts into
company practices and coordinate project initiatives
- Assist with laser scanning operation and processing
- Work closely with the IT department to ensure virtual construction initiatives are carried out
- Work with operations based Integrated Construction Engineers to promote a multifaceted Virtual
Construction adoption strategy on projects
- Assist and participate in teaching the internal virtual construction education program
- Develop and foster relationships with external parties, including but not limited to clients, design team
partners, subcontractors, vendors, industry organizations, universities, and colleagues
- Attend and participate in industry events to stay atop of BIM developments and promote DAVIS as an
industry leader
- Make suggestions for the refinement of DAVIS Virtual Construction standards to ensure a consistent
product is delivered across the organization in an efficient manner
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of all DAVIS Virtual Construction software applications and stay
afloat of other industry software packages
- Coordinate with BIM providers and contractors
- Perform other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE + SPECIAL SKILLS
- Required
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture or construction related field or equivalent work experience*
- Three (3) years’ experience in project engineering*
- Advanced understanding of VC software (Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, 4D Tools)*
- Advanced ability to produce models using various applications*
- Experience using Building Information Model (BIM) systems*
- Decision making, research and analytical problem solving skills*
- Time management with the ability to organize, assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and
demands, and to work independently*
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and interact effectively at all levels within the
organization*
- MS Office – Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook experience*
- Ability to understand architectural, mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil drawings, as well as related
specifications

The employee must occasionally lift / carry / move up to 25 pounds. Manual dexterity to operate office equipment,

WORKING CONDITIONS

Educational Sessions, And Other Company Events.
The noise level in the office work environment is usually moderate.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to higher noise levels and hazardous

The base salary (or hourly) range for this position is
$85,000.00 - $110,000.00
