how you will contribute
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Product Designer to lead the design efforts for our B2B client portal. This is a pivotal role that requires a blend of strategic thinking, hands-on design expertise, and strong leadership skills. You will work closely with a dedicated Product Manager, a User Researcher, a team of two Product Designers, and two agile development teams to shape the future of our client-facing platform.
As a UX Designer, you are one of the problem solvers for our new client platform. You will be instrumental in leading design initiatives, mentoring a talented team, and ensuring our portal provides a seamless, intuitive, and consistent experience that empowers our clients.
You work with a researchers and designers team and closely collaborate with product, developers, and platform specialists. Using a self-starting attitude, analyze to find new opportunities to improve user experience. You engage in and collaborate with initiatives of UX research, usability testing, information architecture, and interaction design.
what you will be doing
- lead the design process from discovery through to implementation for features within the client portal, covering multiple business lines such as: temp staffing, perm placements, and a new talent marketplace, and more.
- partner closely with the Product Manager to define the user experience strategy and collaborate on defining core structural and interaction patterns early in the process.
- design wireframes, low-fidelity concepts, and high-fidelity mockups for new features and improvements.
- develop interactive prototypes for internal review and external usability testing.
- guide and mentor two product designers, providing feedback, support, and fostering their growth.
- work hand-in-hand with the User Researcher to plan research activities, analyze findings, and integrate user insights into the design process, including leveraging competitive analysis and insights from existing local products.
- lead the creation and refinement of user personas to build empathy and alignment across design and development teams.
- utilize and contribute to the evolution of our global design system, ensuring consistency and scalability across the portal.
- present design concepts and rationale clearly and persuasively to diverse stakeholders, comfortably using various communication methods including diagrams and flows.
- iterate on designs based on feedback, research findings, and business requirements.
- collaborate with engineering teams to ensure designs are implemented accurately and to a high standard of design quality and craft.
- proactively identify usability issues and design opportunities within the existing portal.
who will you work with
The UX Research & Design team consists of a diverse group of UX Designers and Researchers who are each dedicated to various Randstad products. Together, you ensure a user-centered approach across all digital touchpoints of Randstad.
You will be a key member of the global client portal team, working closely with a dedicated Product Manager, a User Researcher, Product Owners, Business Analysts, and a team of two other Product Designers. You will collaborate extensively with two agile scrum teams responsible for developing the portal. Additionally, you will interact regularly with cross-functional stakeholders across the business, including sales, operations, and the central design system team.
You will report to the UX Research & Design manager.
what you will bring
Your extensive UX design skills, particularly in crafting intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces, are well developed. You proactively identify design opportunities and meticulously translate user needs and business goals into effective design solutions. Next to that you bring;
- 8+ years of professional experience in product design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in UX and UI design for complex digital products.
- proven experience designing for B2B platforms or client portals.
- proven ability to design user interfaces that are not only intuitive and engaging but also visually appealing and aligned with brand guidelines.
- mastery of Figma and other relevant design tools. You possess expertise in creating essential design deliverables such as journey maps, low and high-fidelity designs, and interactive prototypes.
- familiarity with AI Design tools to improve your workflow and the user experience. (v0, Bolt, Lovable, etc.)
- experience working with and contributing to design systems.
- excellent documentation skills, with practical experience using Confluence or similar knowledge management platforms to maintain clear and comprehensive design documentation.
- a deep understanding of user-centered design principles, interaction design patterns, and information architecture.
- the ability to deliver precise and detailed design specifications and guidelines that enable developers to implement designs accurately and efficiently.
- strong and effective communication skills that facilitate seamless collaboration with team members and diverse stakeholders.
- exceptional time management, estimation, and planning abilities, allowing you to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
- fluent proficiency in English, both spoken and written, enabling clear and effective communication within our global environment.
