As a Senior Traffic Engineer in Dallas, Texas, you will work in the areas of Traffic Engineering Design including traffic signals, interchange evaluation, roundabouts, signing/pavement marking, MOT; ITS Design including Interconnect design, DMS and system detection design. On the Traffic Operations side the areas include - traffic operations analysis, safety analysis and traffic macro/micro modeling. You will work closely with other members of the team in delivering traffic engineering projects including traffic operational analysis, traffic microsimulation models, roadway design, signal design, ITS design, signing and marking, and/or construction traffic control plans, etc. You will develop leadership skills by providing technical direction and mentoring to less experienced personnel. Here's what you'll need
- BS in Civil Engineering with a focus in Transportation/Traffic engineering discipline
- MS/ME in Civil Engineering with a focus in Transportation/Traffic engineering discipline
- At least 20 years of professional experience on Traffic and ITS design projects
- Strong analytical, problem solving, communication and organizational skills
- Experience in the preparation of plans, specification and estimates to state and local standards
- Experience in the preparation of technical reports
- Previous work experience with DOT and municipalities
- Ability to self-motivate and work productively without supervision.
- Ability to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and management thrive in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver multiple complex assignments simultaneously
- Deep knowledge of Highway Capacity Manual, MUTCD, and HSM
- Proficiency in Open Roads Designer (ORD), Microstation, and AutoCAD platforms
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in Texas and Oklahoma, or ability to obtain licensure via reciprocity
- Proficiency with Traffic analysis software (Synchro/SimTraffic, DynusT, VISSIM, CORSIM, HCS, HSM). Ability to enhance current software skills.
- PTOE Certification
- Knowledge of traffic signals and signal systems
- Experience with Intelligent Transportation Systems for DOT and municipal clients
- Knowledge of National Electrical Code
- Knowledge of AGi32 or Visual Lighting Software

The base salary range for this position is $129,400.00 to $200,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
