We are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced Senior Testing Engineer to lead and execute routine, type, and special electrical tests on Dry type transformers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of transformer testing standards and hands-on experience operating high-voltage test equipment to ensure product reliability, performance, and safety compliance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field.
2–5+ years of experience in testing power and/or distribution transformers.
In-depth knowledge of transformer test procedures, electrical safety standards, and high-voltage lab operations.
Proficient in interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, and test specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Transformer Testing:
Conduct and supervise routine, type, and special tests on transformers such as:
Winding resistance
Voltage ratio and vector group
Insulation resistance (IR) and polarization index (PI)
No-load and load losses
Impedance voltage
High voltage withstand test (HV/LV)
Lightning impulse test
Partial discharge (PD) test
Temperature rise test (heat run)
Analyze and interpret test results and ensure they are within specified tolerance levels.
Compliance & Documentation
Ensure all tests are conducted in accordance with international standards (IEC, ANSI, IEEE, IS) and customer specifications.
Prepare detailed test reports, customer inspection documents, and certification packages.
Coordinate with third-party inspectors and customer representatives during FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests).
Lab & Equipment Management
Monitor the health and calibration of high-voltage testing equipment (AC, DC, impulse generators, etc.).
