About The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Senior Technical Program Manager to lead the definition, design, and delivery of critical payroll and related software solutions. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your deep understanding of software development lifecycles and your proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders to translate their needs into clear product requirements and work hand-in-hand with technical and design teams to ensure the successful implementation of innovative and user-centric solutions. Your leadership will be crucial in coordinating priorities, driving aggressive roadmaps, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Solution Definition & Delivery : Lead the end-to-end process of defining, designing, and delivering payroll and related software solutions, leveraging diverse technologies and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Product Requirements Management : Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, including payroll, HR, and finance teams, to elicit, analyze, and document comprehensive product requirements, ensuring clarity and feasibility.
  • Technical & Design Collaboration : Work effectively with technical architects, software development teams, UX/UI designers, and QA engineers to define the technical implementation and user experience of the product, ensuring an optimal customer journey.
  • Program Leadership & Coordination : Lead the implementation and delivery of multiple concurrent product initiatives, effectively coordinating priorities, managing aggressive roadmaps, and ensuring seamless collaboration between engineering and design teams.
  • Product Enhancement & Support : Drive the support and enhancement of existing payroll and related products, identifying opportunities for improvement and delivering measurable positive impacts on efficiency, user satisfaction, and business outcomes.
  • SDLC Adherence : Ensure strict adherence to established Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes, including planning, design, development, testing, and deployment, to deliver timely and high-quality solutions.
  • Risk Management & Mitigation : Proactively identify potential risks and dependencies, develop mitigation strategies, and effectively communicate and manage them throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Stakeholder Communication : Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders, including business leaders, project teams, and external vendors, providing regular updates on progress, risks, and dependencies.
  • Process Improvement : Continuously assess current systems and processes, identify areas for improvement, and propose innovative process and technology enhancements to optimize delivery and efficiency.

Basic Qualifications

  • Engineering Team Experience : 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams in a technical capacity, demonstrating a strong understanding of software development processes.
  • Technical Program Management : 5+ years of proven experience in technical program management, successfully leading complex software development projects.
  • Cross-Functional Project Management : Demonstrated ability to effectively manage cross-functional projects, prioritize tasks effectively, and lead teams of developers, analysts, and other technical resources.
  • System Assessment & Improvement : Strong analytical skills in assessing current systems, identifying inefficiencies, and proposing practical and impactful process and technology improvements.
  • Agile Methodologies : Proven experience working with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and effectively coordinating activities across multiple Agile teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ERP-PeopleSoft (HCM/HRMS) Experience : Hands-on experience with ERP systems, particularly PeopleSoft (Human Capital Management/Human Resource Management System) modules relevant to payroll and HR processes.
  • Kronos Experience : Experience with Kronos workforce management solutions, including timekeeping, scheduling, and payroll integration.
  • AWS Technologies : Familiarity and experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) technologies and cloud-based solutions.
  • Systems Integration & Architecture : Expertise in systems integration principles and a strong understanding of application architecture.
  • Communication Skills : Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate technical and business concepts across diverse audiences and disciplines, including executive-level stakeholders.
