Location: Flexible (San Mateo, CA) - This role requires proximity to the office location with flexibility to work remotely 2-3 days/week with manager approval.
The Role
GoPro is looking for a top tier candidate for the role of Sr. Technical Program Manager, Firmware. This position will be responsible for managing overall Product Firmware developments for our Cameras and Accessories, acting as the project lead through design, development, validation, release to production and sustaining state. The successful candidate will have exceptional product development fundamentals, exceptional communication skills, and a desire to work with an amazing team to build game-changing products.
What You'll Do
* Provide leadership in driving product development efforts within Product Firmware projects, from early concepts to product launch and sustaining.
* Lead and align efforts to define engineering scope, critical paths, technical risks to create project plans and schedule that will deliver high-quality products with high confidence.
* Build and manage project schedules, dependencies, deliverables and responsibilities with functional managers and team members.
* Prioritize team deliverables, tasks, and issues; manage change requests against scheduling and resource constraints.
* Identify and highlight technical risks quickly and efficiently, resolve conflicting priorities and inter-dependencies, drive for consensus, risk mitigations and conclusions.
* Partner with other Technical Program Manager and team leads to ensure that handoffs between teams are never dropped, and are transferred with clear responsibilities, ownership, and delivery expectations.
* Lead regular stakeholder reviews; communicate and present status and issues effectively to all levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing.
* Support Engineering, Legal and Operations team to close on SOW and legal agreements to meet project plans.
* Maintain approach towards teamwork and collaboration.
Skills We're Excited About
* BS and 8+ years of technical work experience related to Firmware or Software developments, Embedded Systems development, including 4+ years of Engineering Program Management in consumer electronics industry.
* Experience and/or understanding of product development lifecycles and processes.
* Self-starter, self-motivated, detail-oriented and demonstrate critical thinking capabilities.
* Track record of organizational and priority management skills in complex technical contexts.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, with ability to synthesize complex and large amount of data into concise analysis that enable executive-level decision-making.
* Team player and able to remain flexible, calm and focus in complex cross-functional environment.
* Experience in working with and managing offshore suppliers and manufacturers.
* Knowledgeable of one or more technologies is a plus: Electrical Engineering, UX/UI, Image Quality, Software development.

The pay range for this role is between $127,925 - $180,500. Actual pay within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including your residence location and prior work experience. Equity, benefits, and a discretionary bonus may be additional forms of compensation for this role and are not included in the provided pay range.
