Job Description:

Health Catalyst is seeking a senior technical product owner for Embedded Refills. The ideal candidate will be strategic, curious, and detail oriented. This person will thrive in a collaborative environment as they take primary responsibility for the execution of the product strategy and work with product management, engineering, customers, and various other stakeholders to design and drive the delivery of the solution.

The role is tasked with optimizing and driving the entire development process. This means that they must actively analyze ways to develop, implement, and act rapidly and efficiently on the solution strategy.

Objectives of this role

• Lead team meetings to define product vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities. Communicate with stakeholders throughout the project
• Collaborate with internal and external contacts to analyze needs and align the product roadmap to strategic goals
• Work closely with product managers and business teams to create and maintain the product backlog according to business value or ROI
• Remain up to date on trends and best practices for agile product development

Responsibilities:

• Master the product by quickly learning about the healthcare industry, users, features, and functionality
• Maintain and communicate the product roadmap; ensuring development efforts align with strategic priorities
• Follow agile best practices for product development
• Plan and prioritize product development and the product feature backlog
• Develop detailed product feature specifications and ensure they are clearly understood by relevant teams
• Write detailed, technical user stories for the engineering teams to execute
• Schedule and lead agile development meetings
• Mitigate roadblocks to achieving sprint/release goals
• Lead the product-release plans and set expectations for delivery of new functionalities

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree
• 5-7 years of experience in an agile product development role
• 3+ years of experience in product development in the healthcare technology industry.
• Experience in a technical product owner role
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable product requirements
• Experience leading cross-functional teams

Required Skills:

• Technical proficiency: Understanding of APIs, HL7/FHIR standards (including CDS Hooks), some familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS)
• Healthcare experience: Deep understanding of EHR systems,
• Soft Skills: Strong communicator, critical thinking, ability to make fact-based decisions, and skilled in collaboration
• Experience with refill management processes and clinical workflows is a plus but not required.
