This Opportunity
WSP USA is actively seeking a Senior Technical Director, Transportation Engineering with strong experience in transportation infrastructure and operations project for our Western Washington location. This role provides guidance to PMs and managers that address current and future challenges, ensuring that project delivery meets federal, state, regional and local regulations and requirements. The incumbent will be responsible to assist PMs, managers and project teams in the development and delivery of scope, schedule, budget, quality and risk on assigned programs and projects.
This position can be based out of WSP's Tacoma-WA, Seattle-WA or Vancouver-WA office.
Your Impact
* Provide proactive and strategic process and people leadership for project/program delivery from planning through operation.
* Provide cross-functional support (project delivery, technical expertise, business development, people leadership, operations) as need in the Washington transportation group and, as necessary, to Mountain Pacific region and/or national programs/projects.
* Maintain a current level of knowledge and understanding of federal, state, and local policy and procedural changes, with particular attention to emergent changes.
* Maintain a high level of commitment to internal and external client service.
* Collaborate with the Business Line leadership to attract and retain industry-best talent, fostering a work environment that is collaborative and invites broad, creative thinking to effect an attractive workplace to grow and thrive.

Who You Are
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or closely related discipline
* 15+ years of relevant post education experience in engineering, civil and infrastructure design and operations
* Registration as a Professional Engineer in Washington
* Advanced proficiency with civil engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, standard of care, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues.
* Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate and collaborate with clients, project managers, business leaders, subconsultant partners, and technical staff
* Ability to convey complete technical concepts to a variety of audiences
* Strong project management and organizational skills including time management, delegation, monitoring and controlling skills
* Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
* Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's Degree in Engineering (or equivalent)
* PMP and/or DBIA certification (or related)
* Knowledge of highway, transit, and major structures design and delivery practices and procedures
* Strong experience in managing the review and approval of document and discipline-specific deliverables, certifications, processes and plans in a program environment

Compensation:
Expected Salary (all locations): $157,000 - $300,410
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
