WSP is seeking a Senior Technical Construction Manager to join on an exciting program. This position is required to be in office in the Vancouver, WA project office at least 3 days a week.
The Construction Manager (CM) is responsible for the efficient completion of construction projects for a program, with a specific focus on Bridge work. This position ensures assigned projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The CM will support the client Construction Manager with strategic planning, staff leadership, resource allocation, scope, schedule and budget management, cross discipline coordination, risk management, and stakeholder communication to drive project success. Prior to the start of construction, this position will lead pre-construction initiatives, such as strategic planning, cost estimation, and value engineering.
This position is contingent upon client approval, meaning that employment will be confirmed once our client has reviewed and approved the selected candidate.
Your Impact
* Reports to the Construction Manager (client) and Deputy Program Manager (GEC), the Construction Manager (CM) is responsible for the efficient completion of construction projects for the IBR program, with a specific focus on the Columbia River Bridge work.
* Performs contract administration, document control, and project scheduling reviews.
* Coordinates with multiple personnel including designers, contractors and other stakeholders to insure projects are completed within the stipulated time and allocated budget.
* Coordination of daily aspects of the project with internal and external stakeholders.
* Ensures proper construction methods are utilized.
* Provides information and responses to inquiries from contractors, clients, and other stakeholders.
* Assists with evaluation of change order requests, requests for information, and other change issues.
* Verify conformance to the projects quality control plan in accordance with quality assurance requirements.
* Assist in maintaining project files for all required administrative items including, but not limited to, submittals, RFIs, payroll records, field changes and directives, general correspondence, and pay applications.
* Ensures final project deliverables (As-Builts & O&M Manuals) meet client standards.
* Provides risk management feedback on all assigned projects prior to and during construction.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
* Ability to oversee day-to-day administrative and technical tasks on multiple construction sites.
* Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or equivalent experience
* Requires 10 years+ of related experience (or equivalent working knowledge/experience)
* Knowledge of the principles and practices of Construction methods and practices of building design and construction
* Experience in project management, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
* Experience managing documentation, including permits, contracts, and change orders.
* Proficiency in writing, reviewing and understanding contract documents.
* Experience reviewing and understanding project specifications and engineering documents.
* Experience documenting all construction activities and evaluating the progress of construction projects.
* Experience with alternative delivery of large-scale transportation projects, particularly Design-Build
* Experience complying with safety requirements by ensuring strict adherence to construction and safety regulations.
* Experience maintaining accurate records of project expenses and budgets.
* Experience collaborating with engineers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure project feasibility.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively coordinate various teams, project managers, and subcontractors.
* Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet hard deadlines.
* Ability to pay close attention to detail, good project management skills, and excellent problem-solving skills.

Compensation:
Expected Salary (all locations): $117,000 - $173,800
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
