The Australian Government has announced the stabilisation of existing business registers and their transfer from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) back to ASIC, under the Registry Connect (RC) Program. The team
The Digital, Data, and Technology Portfolio Office delivers a variety of project and support services to ASIC. We are executing significant technology projects to transform our business, focusing on visualization, mobility, and cloud. Emphasizing data sharing and analytics, we aim to make ASIC a ‘best in class' regulator supporting the Australian financial markets.
The role
As a Senior Technical Business Analyst, you will employ diverse business analysis techniques, including agile methodologies, to deliver high-quality project outcomes within established timelines. Your key responsibilities will encompass eliciting, analysing, and managing both high-level and detailed business requirements, conducting enterprise analysis, assessing and validating solutions, and addressing both functional and non-functional requirements.
More Specifically, You Will
- Collaborate with SMEs and IT teams to analyse business requirements and identify needs.
- Document business, functional, and non-functional requirements for diverse stakeholders.
- Create user interface designs following UCD principles and government accessibility guidelines.
- Develop process maps for as-is and to-be processes.
- Quickly understand business structure, strategy, and its impact on team efforts.
- Assist in testing preparation and execution.
- Support UAT preparation, system implementation, user manuals, and training.
- Manage performance to align with ASIC's strategic priorities and team business plan.
About You
The ideal candidate for the Senior Technical Business Analyst role will possess a blend of technical expertise, analytical skills, and effective communication abilities. They should have a strong background in business analysis techniques, including Agile methodologies, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and be adept at delivering high-quality project outcomes within established timelines.
In Addition, You Will Have
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or professional certifications, with Agile and SAFe certification being highly desirable.
- Excellent knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodology.
- Strong skills in eliciting, documenting, and managing requirements.
- Experienced with industry process modelling and requirements management tools.
- Demonstrated technology-based project experience within in large complex enterprise environments.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills in IT systems and delivery.
- Strong enterprise analysis skills for resolving complex problems.
- Skilled in user-centric design thinking.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks or projects.
- Effective in presenting information to various audiences verbally and in writing.
- Independent work capability with accountability for outcomes.
- Commitment to customer service excellence and professional communication.
- Desirable knowledge of ASIC's systems (SAS, Microsoft Dynamics, Java, Siebel/Oracle fusion, Peoplesoft, Data Warehouse).
- Have demonstrable experience in integrating different business applications and improving efficiency of workflows and processes
