Job Offer – Senior Technical Architect

Contract Duration: 42 weeks

About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Technical Architect to provide advanced technical support, application assessment, software architecture assistance, and service delivery solutions across Linux and Windows environments. The candidate will be assigned to a major information systems support project for a key federal institution based in Ottawa.
You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support mission-critical Command and Control (C2) systems and ensure system sustainability, modernization, and security.
Responsibilities
- Design, assess, and optimize software and application architectures.
- Develop and implement service delivery strategies for diverse application portfolios.
- Conduct detailed system and stakeholder analysis, producing actionable recommendations.
- Support DevSecOps initiatives and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices (e.g., GitLab, Azure DevOps).
- Provide cybersecurity input for architecture and operations.
- Automate manual processes to enhance operational efficiency.
- Create lifecycle management plans and technical briefings for leadership.
- Analyze system performance and suggest improvements through KPIs and analytic tools integration.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of recent experience (past 7 years) in application support and technical architecture for complex information systems.
- Minimum 3 years of direct experience with DevSecOps practices (e.g., GitLab, Azure DevOps environments).
- Demonstrated experience working with Linux and Windows-based enterprise systems.
- Proven ability to develop technical roadmaps, sustainability studies, and security assessments.
- Strong experience producing technical documentation and stakeholder presentations.
- Familiarity with high-security environments and bandwidth-constrained operations is an asset.
Security Requirements
- The candidate must hold a valid Secret clearance issued by the Canadian Government at the start of the contract.
- Access to Protected B information and handling of Controlled Goods are required.
- Compliance with security protocols prohibiting unauthorized electronic devices in designated restricted areas is mandatory.
- If the candidate does not yet hold the clearance, they must be eligible and willing to undergo the security clearance process promptly upon selection.
Additional Requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be willing to work on-site in Ottawa full-time (no remote work).
- Knowledge of stakeholder management best practices and current cybersecurity trends is considered an advantage.
