Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Animator with a strong background in rigging and animation implementation for games. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience rigging characters in Maya, along with a solid understanding of engine implementation of animations. This role requires a professional who is comfortable adapting to different tools and technologies, and who can efficiently tackle the challenges of rigging for games.
Key Responsibilities
Rig characters in Maya for use in game engines, ensuring the highest quality and efficiency.
Work closely with animators and developers to implement character animations into game engines.
Troubleshoot and adapt rigging techniques to meet the specific requirements of different game engines and platforms.
Optimize mesh topology and deformations to ensure smooth and efficient animation for game characters.
Collaborate with the development team to maintain consistency and quality throughout the production pipeline.
Troubleshoot issues related to rigging, animation, and engine implementation, ensuring smooth transitions and high-quality animations.
Required Qualifications
5 to 10 years of experience in character rigging and animation, with a strong focus on game development.
Proven experience rigging characters in Maya for games, with an understanding of game-specific animation needs.
Experience with engine implementation of animations, ensuring seamless integration of animations into game engines.
Solid understanding of mesh topology and deformations optimized for animation in the context of game characters.
Ability to adapt to various tools and technologies, ensuring flexibility and adaptability in rigging processes.
Nice to Have
Experience with the Maya plugin "Advanced Skeleton" is a plus.
Familiarity with scripting for Maya (Cmds, pymel, Maya API) is beneficial but not required.
