About Us
At Shechter & Associates, we’re not your typical accounting firm. We’re a close-knit team that genuinely cares about the work we do and the people we do it with. Our focus is on building strong, lasting relationships, with our clients and with each other. We offer thoughtful, high-quality tax and advisory services to a broad mix of clients, including high-net-worth individuals, privately held businesses, estates and trusts, across a variety of industries.
What really sets us apart is our culture. We’re collaborative, open-minded, and always thinking a step ahead. We value professional growth, encourage new ideas, and understand how important it is to have a healthy work-life balance.

- Review work prepared by associates, providing guidance, coaching, and constructive feedback to support their development.
- Perform other accounting duties as needed in engagements and as assigned by managers
- Conduct detailed tax research and clearly communicate findings through written memos and direct client interactions.
- Serve as the engagement lead on specific client accounts.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- CPA Certified, EA Certified (or significant progress toward certification)
- 3+ years of public accounting experience focused on tax
- Experience with tax preparation and research software (CCH Axcess, UltraTax, GoSystem, or similar)
