Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Tableau Administrator with deep expertise in Tableau Cloud migration to lead and manage the transition of our on-premise Tableau Server environment to Tableau Cloud. This role will oversee the end-to-end administration, optimization, and strategic migration planning to ensure minimal disruption and maximum performance for our BI and analytics platform.

Key Responsibilities

Tableau Administration & Platform Management

• Manage and maintain Tableau Server and/or Tableau Cloud environments including configuration, user provisioning, and licensing.
• Monitor and optimize performance, schedule extracts, and ensure high availability and fault tolerance.
• Enforce governance, compliance, and data security policies across Tableau assets and user groups.
  
  

Cloud Migration Leadership

• Lead the full lifecycle migration from Tableau Server to Tableau Cloud, including:
• Audit and assessment of current environments
• Clean-up and rationalization of workbooks, data sources, users, and groups
• Coordination with Tableau/Support and internal teams for migration scheduling
• Migration of content, users, permissions, embedded credentials, and integrations
• Develop documentation, playbooks, and rollback plans to support the migration process.
  

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience with Tableau Server and Tableau Cloud administration.
• Proven success in at least one full-scale Tableau Cloud migration project.
• Strong understanding of Tableau architecture, user roles, site administration, and security configurations.
• Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Tableau REST API).
• Solid grasp of identity management systems like Active Directory, SSO/SAML, OAuth, etc.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps processes, and version control systems (Git, Jenkins, etc.).
• Strong communication and project management skills; able to lead cross-functional teams.
