Position Overview:


Our client is hiring a Principal Systems Engineer to lead the design and integration of advanced biosensing technologies. This role is central to building scalable system architectures that connect next-generation sensors with body-worn devices, mobile applications, and cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate brings deep technical fluency across multiple engineering domains and thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop innovative, patient-focused solutions to complex engineering challenges
  • Apply multi-disciplinary knowledge (including software, hardware, mechanical, and chemical systems) to build and evolve product platforms
  • Design robust system architectures that enable communication between embedded sensors, wearable components, mobile devices, and remote services
  • Analyze real-world performance data and potential failure mechanisms to refine system-level reliability and functionality
  • Support algorithm development and modeling efforts to interpret biological data collected from optical sensing devices
  • Drive improvements in system accuracy, stability, and consistency through iterative engineering and analysis
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to advance the full stack of the product ecosystem
  • Proactively identify and manage technical risks to ensure successful product outcomes
  • Maintain a high level of technical proficiency and continuously engage with emerging tools and methodologies


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in a technical discipline (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Biomedical, or Optical Engineering; Computer Science; Applied Physics or Math)
  • Strong background in modeling and simulation, ideally with experience in MATLAB
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in systems engineering, especially in cross-functional environments
  • Deep understanding of wireless technologies such as NFC and Bluetooth
  • Technical expertise in one or more of the following: optical sensing, instrumentation, biophysical systems, algorithm design, signal processing
  • At least 5 years of experience in applied R&D, advanced prototyping, or full-cycle product development
  • Prior work in regulated industries or medical device development is strongly preferred
