Summary

Overview SENIOR SYSTEMS ENGINEER | TIER III (MIELS): Bowhead is seeking Senior Systems Engineers to support a customer in Stafford, VA. Support for the contract will consist of program management; logistics; asset management; engineering; customer service; research and development of new capabilities; test and evaluation; manpower, training, and personnel; new equipment fielding and training; financial management; information assurance; cybersecurity; and 24X7 enterprise services operations and sustainment. Responsibilities * Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for complex system issues both on prem and in the cloud. * Resolve escalated technical problems that Tier I and Tier II support teams are unable to solve. * Administer, configure, and maintain complex systems, including servers, networks, and databases. * Perform in-depth diagnostics and analysis to identify root causes of issues across systems and applications. * Manage and maintain virtualized environments, including VMware or Hyper-V platforms. * Implement and manage security measures to comply with DoD/IC policies and regulations. * Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software, and hardware for critical infrastructure. * Develop and implement automation tools to streamline system administration tasks. * Perform regular system performance tuning and capacity planning to ensure optimal performance. * Oversee and support system backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures. * Coordinate system upgrades, patches, and maintenance to minimize downtime and risk. * Collaborate with network engineers, developers, and other teams to troubleshoot and resolve cross-functional issues. * Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. * Mentor and provide guidance to Tier I and Tier II staff on complex technical issues. * Implement and manage system monitoring tools to proactively detect and resolve issues. * Assist with evaluating and recommending new technologies, tools, and processes to improve system reliability and efficiency. * Ensure compliance with industry standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements for all systems. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or related field. * Eight (8+) years of management experience (site lead only) * Seven (7+) years systems engineering experience. * Four (4+) years of experience supporting and sustaining DoD cyberspace programs. * Cloud certified. * DoD 8570 / 8140 compliance or information assurance certification commensurate with technical objectives and services required. * Preferred: 10+ years of experience supporting cyberspace capability development. * Preferred: 5+ years of experience with Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO) adversary detection, intrusion forensics, and network recovery hardware / software. * Preferred: Subject matter expert with DoD cyber protection team tools, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) * Preferred: Active CISP * Preferred: Master's degree in information systems management or related field. Physical Demands: * Must be able to lift 25 pounds * Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time * Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Top Secret/SCI level with Counter Intelligence Polygraph.
