We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Engineer to design, implement, and support our infrastructure, cloud, and networking estate with a strong focus on security. This role is part of a global technology function, working with colleagues in our UK operation to ensure robust and high calibre technical support for our global business.

On a typical day, it looks like this...
Infrastructure
Design and build servers according to Platform department guidelines.
Monitor and respond to server and network issues to ensure optimal performance.
Manage patching and Group Policy.
Build and support endpoints as needed.
Security
Install and manage security software, including Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Sentinel.
Monitor and analyze network traffic for unusual activity and potential threats.
Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
Respond to and investigate cybersecurity breaches and incidents.
Stay updated with the latest cybersecurity trends and threats.
Develop and implement IT security policies, protocols, and procedures.
Identify emerging compliance requirements.
Provide support to staff on cybersecurity best practices.
Coordinate regular IT risk assessments and monitor mitigation progress.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective cybersecurity measures.
Work with internal teams to deliver secure and compliant solutions.
Other Duties:
Ensure adherence to change request management processes.
Support the Service Desk when required.
Assist the Head of Platform and Security Operations with server projects, communications projects, and project planning.
Manage relationships with external support companies and strategic partners.
Provide leadership and direction to the Systems Engineers.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Proven experience in an IT Infrastructure Role, and experience with Microsoft Defender, Intune and Sentinel
Proven experience of Cloud security and risk management.
Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and security technologies
Strong understanding of Nutanix Hyperconverged Solutions and Microsoft SQL
Strong knowledge of IT policy frameworks and risk management.
Experience with compliance requirements and security controls implementation.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Degree qualified in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Microsoft Security courses SC200, SC300, SC400, SC900, MAZ500 would be beneficial.
