Job Title: Senior Systems Architect

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Systems Architect with a strong software engineering background to help us design, build, and secure the next generation of our backend infrastructure. This role is ideal for a technically hands-on architect who has extensive experience building secure, scalable systems in Python, is well-versed in modern cloud infrastructure, and can lead the design of systems handling highly confidential information.

You’ll work closely with engineering leadership, DevOps, and product teams to ensure that our platform remains secure, resilient, and adaptable as we grow.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, secure backend systems using Python.
• Lead architecture decisions for systems handling highly sensitive and confidential data.
• Implement and maintain secure authentication and authorization frameworks (e.g. OAuth, LDAP).
• Integrate security best practices (OWASP) throughout the design and development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to implement cloud-native infrastructure and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Define system architecture standards, technical documentation, and design reviews.
• Stay current with emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies to ensure proactive system defenses.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of professional experience in backend system architecture and software engineering.
• Proven experience building and maintaining secure systems handling confidential information.
• Strong experience with Python backend development.
• Solid understanding of and hands-on experience with authentication systems (OAuth, LDAP).
• Deep knowledge of OWASP security practices and integrating them into SDLC.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead architecture discussions and technical decision-making in distributed teams.
  

Nice to Have

• Experience working within regulated or compliant environments (e.g. GDPR, SOC2, ISO 27001).
• Familiarity with AI technologies, such as AI agents, chatbots or LLMs, and how they integrate within secure backend systems.
• Previous experience in startups or fast-paced, high-growth tech companies.
• Native Spanish speaker or fluent Spanish proficiency.
